Dimensions of Sprocket

Sprockets can be classified into regular sprockets, HK sprockets along with other sprockets.
one. Standard sprocket
Conventional sprockets are ANSI sprockets which might be engaged with standard series roller chains. See P125 for dimensions.
You can find two sorts of tooth profiles: U-tooth and S-tooth.
2. HK sprocket
HK sprockets is often engaged with HK series roller chains, and those for single strand chains are identical to typical sprockets. Having said that, sprockets for several strand chains are distinctive from standard sprockets in sprocket tooth profile.
three. Other sprockets
Other sprockets are created according on the following calculation formulas to suit respective specialty chains.
The sprockets used to the following chains would be the exact same because the conventional sprockets in tooth gap form, but diverse in tooth thickness (sprocket tooth profile).
4. Calculation of sprocket dimensions
The dimensions of common sprockets and other standard sprockets are calculated as follows. In the beginning, the diameters of sprockets are calculated from your following calculation formulas.
Next, sprocket tooth profile (the form on the tooth determined by its thickness) is calculated from your following calculation formulas. (The values shown inside the following pages had been calculated by these formulas and regarded as the normal values.)

Calculation of pitch diameter, tip diameter and caliper diameter
The basic dimensions of a sprocket ideal for a chain pitch of 1 mm are respectively known as pitch diameter aspect, tip diameter element and caliper diameter aspect. The respective components for respective numbers of teeth are listed below. If these things are multiplied by chain pitch, the fundamental dimensions from the corresponding sprocket may be obtained.
Illustration:
Within the case of 80 (25.forty mm pitch) with 35 teeth Pitch diameter (Dp) = P×Pitch diameter element
Calculation formulas for tooth gap forms
Because the most rational tooth gap varieties through which the stress angle alterations in response to your elongation of a smoothly rotated roller chain together with the lapse of services time, ANSI specify two sorts of tooth profiles: U-type and S-type. Generally, S-type tooth profiles are adopted in accordance with ANSI, and our typical sprockets also have S-tooth profiles.
